The significance of December 3 on TikTok is explained

TikTok users celebrate on December 3rd. The app is renowned for its viral trends; the most recent one occurred on December 3. Conan Gray's song "Heather" is referenced in the fad.

The first few lines of the song go:

"I still remember, third of December, Me in your sweater, you said it looked better on me than it did you, only if you knew, how much I liked you."

A reference to someone missing their crush on December 3 is made in the song. Everyone is talking about falling in love or confessing their love for their crush today on social media thanks to the trend.

TikTok's December 3 tradition began two years ago.

When videos on TikTok began to reference December 3 in 2020, the trend was already underway. Since then, it has developed into a yearly custom. Any posted video on this specific day has the song Heather included as the background music.

In reference to the film Heathers from 1988, the term is often used to describe a popular and attractive girl. In the song, the performer expresses their passion for their flame, "Heather," who is their crush.

Online users have gone one step further and want to date their crushes and fall in love. When they go on a date, they hope their crush will give (or receive) them a "sweater." Some people may merely intend to keep Heather on repeat while dressing in a sweater.

Conan's upcoming album Kid Krow features Heather. The singer provided an explanation of the song's motivation, saying:

"It's about a girl named Heather – I think everyone has a Heather in their life. The person that I really, really liked was in love with Heather. They were not in love with me, and because of that, I f*cking hated Heather."

Conan too jumped on this trend.
